The weekend courses in the pre-collegiate division are meant to attract bright and curious minds to discover more about a topic they’re already interested in or one they want to begin to learn about. Success in any academically rigorous program should help a student get into college, and we feel courses with The School of The New York Times are no exception. College applicants often want to show that they’ve gone out of their way to improve skills and knowledge in a given subject area, especially one they may be considering as a first step toward a career and/or a passion. These courses are designed to be rigorous explorations of given subjects and to encourage students to think critically. We feel we’re in a unique position to offer these vital skills.
